Chase Field has been home of the Arizona Diamondbacks since they joined the National League as an expansion team in 1998. The ballpark was called Bank One Ballpark from 1998 to 2005 when the name was changed to Chase Field. Chase Field has natural grass and a retractable roof that is closed for most games.
Chase Field is located in the southeast portion of downtown Phoenix. Valley Metro provides transit service in the Phoenix area. There is a eastbound light rail stop adjacent to Chase Field. The westbound stop is a block away.

The Arizona Diamonbacks began play in 1998 as a National League expansion team. The Arizona Diamondbacks beat the New York Yankees for their only World Championship in 2001.
2011 Playoffs
The Diamondbacks won the 2011 National League West Division, but lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Central Division champion Milwaukee Brewers.
