Phil Niekro has the most wins of any knuckleball pitcher in major league history with 318 wins. He played most of his career with the Braves starting in Milwaukee in 1964 and playing for the Atlanta Braves until 1983. He also played for the New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland Indians near the end of his career before retiring in 1987.

Phil Niekro had five seasons with 20 or more victories. In 1979, he led the National League in both wins with 21 and losses with 20. He had 3,342 strikeouts and averaged 31 games started and 11 complete games a season for his career.

Phil Niekro was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997 with over 80% of the vote.
