Rangers Ballpark in Arlington opened in 1994. The ballpark has had several names since opening. Rangers Ballpark in Arlington replaced Arlington Stadium which was home of the Rangers from 1972 to 1993.
The ballpark is surrounded by parking lots and there is good access to the local freeway system. Arlington is located midway between Dallas and Fort Worth in a large spead out metropolitan area.

The team moved to Arlington from Washington DC in 1994 and changed their name from the Senators to the Rangers. in 2010, The Texas Rangers won the American League pennant for the first time. The Rangers lost to the San Francisco Giants in the 2010 World Series.
The Rangers won the American League West title again in 2011. They defeated the wild card Tampa Rays in the first round and defeated the Detroit Tigers for the American League championship, They lost the World Series for the second straight year, this time to the St. Louis Cardinals.
After leading the Western Division for most of the 2012 season tne Rangers lost five of the last nine games. They qualified for the playoffs as the first wild card team and lost to the Baltimore Orioles in the wild card playoff game.
